Trips & Activities

At Quinta do Pisao is the relax or swim at/in our swimming pool (9x4m).
For the little ones are there is a sandbox, slide and swing. Older children can enjoy themselves on the playing fields or build huts by the river or in the forest.

We also have 4 good mountain bikes that you can use for free, to take a ride through our area with Tony or to go out alone.

The immediate area is perfect for beautiful walks or rides

on the mountain bike. You can also fish in the river or in a nearby reservoir.
There is also a bar at the reservoir with park and terrace, where you can rent pedal boats.

Penalva do Castelo & Mangualde

Penalva do Castelo is 3km away. Every week there is a pleasant weekly market. There are also 2 supermarkets, few cafes, post office, swimming pool, library, health and dental clinics, 2 pharmacies and a few newsagents.
In Penalva do Castelo you can also visit a Roman bridge, pre-historic dolmens and a special 17 century mansion.

Mangualde is a somewhat larger village and is about 7 km away. Here is the InterLiner bus station, train station, 4 large supermarkets, terrace, city park, post office, shops and of course terrace & restaurants.
From the church Senhora do Castelo, located on a hill, you have a beautiful view of the area.
Close to that church is the Praia LiveBeach (www.livebeach.pt ), the largest artificial beach in Europe, with a swimming pool ('the sea') and daily music from 7 p.m. until late, and often also live performances.

Serra d'Estrela

I n you are an hour away on the highest peak of Portugal: the Torre (1993m), located in the Serra d'Estrela National Park. It is the highest mountain range in Portugal: a beautiful rugged landscape with crystal clear mountain lakes and deep glacier valleys. You will come along the way typical portuguese mountain villages.
There are also beautiful walks, varying in difficulty.

Historic cities

Being for culture lovers the historic center of Viseu and the beautiful old university city of Coimbra are definitely worth a visit.

Going out & village parties

In Mangualde is the Praia LiveBeach (www.livebeach.pt), the largest artificial beach in Europe, with swimming pool ('the sea') and daily music from 7 pm until late and often also live performances. There are also various festivals in the summer.
Furthermore, there are typical Portuguese parties every weekend somewhere in a village nearby. Often there is a (church) mass in the afternoon, there are folklore performances and in the evening a full-length performance by a band.
There are 2 large discos in Viseu.
